About the work: This poster was commissioned by the International Olympic Committee, and forms part of the prestigious series of Olympic art posters, where Pistoletto's contribution stands alongside those of Andy Warhol, David Hockney, James Rosenquist, and Cy Twombly.
It started in New York City, where I came across him. That led me into his work through Tate, from the mirror paintings to his Newspaper Sphere, the papier-mâché ball he famously rolled through the streets.
