Thursday night series 10 of 10

I had two martinis and a glass of prosecco. Or was it three martinis and a bottle of prosecco? After talking for thirty minutes about how a trip to Tuscany burned my wallet and brain from too much wine. I guess it’s summer in Seattle.

Seattle Art Museum (SAM) for short. There was a Monet, Rothko, Giacometti, Joan Mitchell, Diego Rivera, Tobey, an Assyrian artifact among a blend of old world, native / regional, art, sculpture, natural history across two and half floors. That’s where we met. Old neighbors.

In the previous two decades I hadn’t paid much attention to SAM. Obviously in this art vortex of NYC I had to see / know how my little brother SAM. Not bad I’d lament, not bad.

We convened at the Four Seasons after taking inventory at SAM. I like the Four Seasons in Seattle only because it’s where the first video of Bezos with Lauren Sanchez was first posted online. Hey if it’s good enough for them? Lol. So a round of four martinis, followed by another for me and former neighbor as the girls had wine. Then off to Assaggios, where we met our staff from previous shifts lol. After a prosecco I turned to my left to see a popular Seattlite and his friend who turned out to be a transplant from Brooklyn, who is now head of Seattle Opera. For the next thirty minutes he gave me a crash course in Opera, from coast to coast. He even knew an artist we are soon to be a patron of in NYC. I might become an opera guy…will see, still need to attend.

This post is all context for how my brain felt from NYC to Seattle to Martinis to Assaggios to people we met, art we saw, rooms we were in all before 9:30pm. I came home and with 10 sheets of large format construction paper painted exactly how I felt. Below is that series:
